A short clip from flutist Emi Ferguson`s latest J.S. Bach album, “Fly the Coop“, which she recored together with the ensemble Ruckus.

Pianist Tanja Huppert touched me with her Bach interpretations. This is a wonderful short video showing her versatility, but most importantly her passion and sensitivity.

I still remember when Viennese cellist Marie Spaemann played Bach at the Neue Galerie in New York. Now she has become a fascinating singer-songwriter whose music I love.

When I started as CEO and Artistic Director of the Wiener Konzerthaus I was soon confronted with the retirement of the one and only Alban Berg Quartet. What a miracle to discover the Belcea Quartet who has become a star of their own in chamber music not only in Vienna.

The twin sisters Ferhan & Ferzan Önder were close friends of Fazil Say since their childhood days in Turkey. There new album “Play Fazil Say” is a homage to their friend and includes a recording of Say’s fascinating Gezi Park Concerto, a musical statement for peace and respect.

Daniela Mars is stunning young flautist from Brazil living in Paris. And she enjoys playing trio with herself 😉

I was never a particular fan of the Haydn cello concerto. This was until I heard Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia playing it…

While heading the Wiener Konzerthaus an agent brought me yet another CD, a young pianist playing Bach’s Goldberg Variations. That seemed almost outrages to me. Until I listened to Simone Dinnerstein playing it, which was the start of an enriching musical friendship.

I met the young cellist Daniel Arias while teaching in Venezuela. He is now in Europe and one of the most promising young musicians we have.

Many musicians have several interests. Some of them even pursue multiple careers. But Serene Han is the only former Google coder who is also a stunning pianist.

I would love to share Beatrice Berrut Liszt interpretations but they would be too long for a short introduction. So I went for a Bach/Kempff Siciliano she played as an encore in Tel Aviv.

Sol Daniel Kim was one of the first musicians attending one of my career management workshops. I am proud that he chose the path of discovering his own musical roots with CelloGayageum besides excelling in classical music.
