
Sharing experiences and expertise is a great passion for me. I also see it as giving back gratefully to others for all I have received and learned from others. My teaching and training focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, and career management. I teach senior executives of global corporations as well as classical musicians. Each course benefits from insides from the world of music and the world of business.
Entrepreneurship
Summary:
Design and delivery of an entrepreneurship program for scientist to empower them to experiment with startup ideas.
Client:
Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft, Austria – a research institution with a thematic focus on medicine, life sciences and the humanities, social sciences and cultural sciences, and is specifically targeting new research topics in Austria.
Duration:
10 months with nine full day modules.
Purpose:
The program provides participants the opportunity to develop and test their business ideas besides their current day-to-day work. Some ideas might lead to startups and new companies, others will stay a fascinating hobby enriching the fellows’ scientific work.

Leadership
Summary:
Development and delivery of a leadership program for senior executives that uses classical music as an example.
Client:
London Business School – one of the leading business schools in the world, as well as other business schools and corporates.
Duration:
Between 1/2 and 2 days.
Purpose:
Much has been written and researched about leadership and teamwork. But then conductors lead an orchestra to great performances within three days. The program looks at examples of leadership and teamwork in classical music and jazz, and applies these examples to business environments.
Elements:
- lecture parts about the principles of leadership and teamwork in music
- live string quartet to see teamwork in action and discover new aspects of working together
- groupwork using musical challenges to experience different leadership and team issues
- videos to illustrate learnings
Role:
Design and delivery of this leadership module for London Business School and other clients.
Career Management
Summary:
Design and delivery of career management programs for classical musicians based on the book, Be Your Own Manager.
Client:
University of Music, Karlsruhe, Germany – as well as further music colleges and universities around the world.
Duration:
12 lectures over two years.
Purpose:
Classical musicians and their education focus strongly on their musical skills. Entrepreneurship and business is often not taught at all. This program wants to enable musicians to become successful music entrepreneurs and to pro-actively manage their careers. It provides them with the necesssary tools and understanding of doing business in the music industry.
Elements:
- lectures to teach key business principles from marketing, sales, to finance
- workshops to put the lessons learned into concrete actions
- homework to further deepen the content of the workshops
- regular podcast to stay motivated and up to speed
